Pathways
Pathways that shape faith, calling, and character.
CRC College offers flexible training pathways that integrate learning, spiritual formation, and real-world ministry; shaped around the life of the local church.
Ministry Formation
At CRC College, ministry formation is about more than completing units of study. It is a holistic pathway that integrates learning, spiritual growth, and lived ministry within the context of the local church.
Students engage with biblical teaching and theological reflection while being shaped in character, faith, and discernment. Formation happens through study, guided reflection, mentoring, and participation in church life, recognising that growth often takes place over time and within community.
This pathway is flexible and designed to support people in different seasons of life; whether they are exploring ministry for the first time, serving faithfully behind the scenes, or preparing for greater leadership responsibility.
Study Progression
CRC College offers clear and flexible study progression pathways that allow students to grow in knowledge and confidence at a pace that suits their calling and circumstances.
Students may begin with foundational training at Certificate III level, progress into leadership development through Certificate IV, and continue into advanced ministry study at Diploma level. Each stage builds on the previous one, while allowing for pause points, alternative study modes, and re-entry where needed.
Study progression is designed to support long-term formation, recognising that ministry development is a journey rather than a single decision.
Intern Program
The Intern Program is a structured option for those seeking a deeper, more intentional formation experience. It combines accredited study with supervised ministry placement and relational mentoring within a church context.
Interns are supported to grow in practical ministry skills, leadership capacity, spiritual maturity, and self-awareness. This pathway is particularly suited to emerging leaders, school leavers, or individuals transitioning into ministry-focused roles.
Participation in the Intern Program involves greater commitment and accountability, with clear expectations and support provided throughout the journey.
Church-Based Training
CRC College’s church-based training pathway is designed to work with local churches, not around them. Training is shaped to align with existing church rhythms, ministry calendars, and leadership structures.
Churches are not required to run additional programs or host extra activities. Instead, training integrates naturally into the life of the church, allowing students to learn and serve within familiar ministry environments.
This pathway honours the authority and discernment of local church leadership while providing consistent training support through CRC College.
External Ministry Experience
As part of the formation journey, students may engage in External Ministry Experiences that provide exposure to ministry activities beyond formal study. These experiences are optional and context-based, and are offered at the discretion of host churches.
External Ministry Experiences are designed to support learning and reflection, not to place pressure on students or churches. Where experiences are not available or appropriate, approved alternative learning activities are provided to ensure students can progress equitably.
Recognition & Flexibility
CRC College recognises that students come with diverse life experiences, ministry backgrounds, and commitments. Across all pathways, flexibility is built in to support accessibility and participation.
This includes recognition of prior learning and experience, alternative assessment options, and study models that respect work, family, and church commitments. No single pathway is required for everyone, and students are supported to find an approach that fits their context and calling.
